Hey there loyal readers—I suspect that one or two of you might have tried to find class materials on this site. Well, as of last semester (Fall 2009) I will post here no more. Got some complaints from students that the Blog/download system was problamatic. Also, as of the end of Fall term my ID # was officially accepted into the Blackboard system—-so seek out Blackboard for all of your class needs.

Depending how classes go & the stability of Blackboard here at Coastal, I may have to change again—but I doubt it. By comparison, Blackbpard here is heads & shoulders about other places with regard to stability issues. Hang tight, and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions/concerns/etc.

For this to work you will need to be aware of a couple of things. First, you will need a means to view files in MS PowerPoint 2007. MS does offer an update to those of you using PowerPoint 2003 & earlier versions.

Second, I do not plan to use compression on any files as they are not that big. However, and I will let you know if it occurs, you may need to dowload compression software (there are several free ones that work well). Again, I will let you know.

Third, the PowerPoint presenations I provide are lecture notes—NOT student’s notes. Keep that in mind as you review them.

Fourth, I will be uploading presentations as I have them saved—they may not match 100% with the class experience. At times I skip slides, or have extra slides to support discussion. If those slides are not needed, they are not reviewed in class. They can’t hurt your studies, but they just might not equate with a study-buddy’s notes.

Fifth, I realize that I will spell words wrong from time to time—try not to pick on me too much for that.

By all means, let me know how this works for you—good feedback is important to fine-tuning this system.

OK, here we go with something new. I will be posting every week or so and posting links where you can download the presentations, syllabi, handouts, and any other material relevant to class. I will post the relevant class number in the “Title” of each post. I hope that in this way you will be able to quickly find the material you want (also the search function can help here too).

The material will be stored at www.rapidshare.com I chose this storage as its cheap, reliable, and easy for you all to access. I will demonstrate it in class, but basically you take the link I provide and paste it into the address bar and click a few times and WHAMMO! you got a file to study from/with.

Comments have been turned off. If you have a problem/question/beef, my email & phone is on the syllabus–I think that should suffice. This includes any ideas you might have to make the blog better…that too would be appreciated. Let me know if this system works for you all.

Depending how this system works for you all, I may also use this site to provide announcements to the class and things like that.
